Richard Ross is a photographer who does lots of documentary photography. He uses both images and stories in order to convey his messages. The series I looked at was called "Waiting for the End of the World." This series was created to convey the fear people felt during the Cold War and still feel about nuclear warfare today. Many of the images showed bunkers and other shelters meant to protect families and individuals from the possibility of nuclear bombs falling on their heads. While I am not worried about nuclear warfare in my near future, looking at some of these images created a sense of panic in me an made me worry and think about the possibly of something like this happening soon.
1. Photography aspects are important in order to convey the message wanted in the film the same way it would be in photography.
2. Still photography helps to promote a film by allowing different styles and feelings appear to the audience. 3. Yes, the visuals in this film did help engage the audience. They were well composed images with high contrast and bright colors attracting viewers. I learned that many of the reasons life exists the way it does is because of the fact that life exists at all. I also learned that stills can make a film, not just movement. |
